I feel like in recent years the art of the side couple has been lost. They are very few and far between in bl these days, which is such a shame because long time fans know that 90% of the time the side couple consumes you!
While I did come into this bc I was craving a sadistic uke, and the main couple fits that bill, the side couple just drew me in so much.

I love this. It's so freaking adorable.
I also find it interesting that the mangaka is clearly capable of drawing attractive characters, but chooses to make the mc and love interest kinda ugly in that bara style. (Seriously, what is Daigo's hair style it's so painful to look at)
So far the side couple is much more interesting, the moonlight water lord has beautiful eyes and the butterflies in his hair are cute.
The child is so inconsistently proportioned that it's annoying.
