From a novel reader: even though Zhenya and Taekjoo never do tell eachother 'Iove you' in the novel the author says that they do love eachother and will confess to eachother in the future outside of the novel.
I know zhenya is a BLACK flag rn but trust he does get nicer to taekjoo (though not saner)
Zhenya is a madman till the very end of the novel and will probably stay that way his whole life but he does love Taekjoo (confirmed) and does become caring towards him despite still being a physcopath. Zhenya obviously has done some pretty unforgivable things but I like when relationships work out and when a character becomes nicer (I believe in second chances idk I'm just a sucker for romance) and the author decides that Taekjoo forgives zhenya anyway.
Zhenya likes to go places with Taekjoo, in the fifth novel (extras) Taekjoo goes to a highschool reunion and zhenya follows where Taekjoo and zhenya get invited to the wedding of the girl that had an unrequited crush on him in highschool.
They're relationship at the end of the novel is actually quite nice there's just quite a bit of time till it gets to that point (

At this point zhenya doesn't love Taekjoo but instead wants someone that will have sex with him without getting tired (Taekjoo is a big man so he doesn't get tired). If you wait it out though I promise there relationship gets better. It's twisted and zhenya is a black flag but Taekjoo is someone that can fend for himself so he is alright. This scene here is the worst one. Zhenya falls in love with Taekjoo after locking him up on an island. Zhenya does treat Taekjoo more like a "treasure" than a person but by the end of the novel they have a pretty standard(?) relationship. Taekjoo goes back to Korea and zhenya comes to visit him and his mother. Taekjoo then volanterally goes back to zhenyas island where they both are in love w eachother

What I mean is that people tend to get tired out when the have intercourse w zhenya but Taekjoo doesn't get exhausted (when zhenya assaults him )because of how athletic he is and that's what zhenya initially was attracted too. I never once said zhenya was a good person and I'm sorry you took it in a way I didn't intend
