When you read about the Aijinoki arc in the novel it doesn't read like this. I think the manwhas problem is trying to make it sexy to appeal to certain audiences when it isn't. The Aijinoki arc in the novel is from Taekjoos perspective and when you read it through his mind and seeing all his thoughts it's still uncomfortable but it isn't as romanticised (?) as this is. Many people equate rape to murder and think both are equally bad, hence why there are plenty who think rapists should get the death penalty. Many agents and service agents aren't trained against sexual assault as they are other forms of torture, especially for people who are prideful it is incredibly degrading and an awful experience to go through, for anyone. That's what zhenya is doing, he's torturing Taekjoo in a way that brings him more excitement than killing him does. I think it comes off a lot better in the novel, and I don't mean that like it's nicer to read, because it isn't. It's uncomfortable and you want to skip past it. In my opinion, codename Anastasia, not the second novel but the first one is a psychological novel and not a Romantic one. Zhenya and Taekjoo and their relationship does get a lot better but it's only at the end of the second novel where you can read it and you could define it as love. It's definitely not something for someone who can only read sweet romances, both of the characters, even taekjoo, aren't good people, though he's better than zhenya. I would honestly drop this and read the novel instead. It's a shame because this artist has drawn the characters really well, theyve just portrayed them really poorly. Again this could be me remembering it wrong, but I definitely think the difference between this and the novel is the novel is a lot harsher and it's not meant to be "sexy" or whatever the artist is trying to do here
Gotta correct you on something in the Novel Zehnya wasn't r#ping Taekju to torture him but to satisfy his curiosity. Because I remember one line he said "What is this feeling, I can't get enough no matter how much I try"
He was struggling to understand why he has this insatiable thirst for Taekju's body.
I agree but as I said it was torture for taekjoo but he was doing it that way because of the pleasure he got himself

important in the sense that there are other scenes revolving around it (like taekjoo removing the tattoo, zhenya finds out that taekjoo removed it, later in part two it leads to zhenya doing the second tattoo, which as you said, is important as well because that’s how zhenya realizes taekjoo isn’t dead and just important symbolically). none of these future scenes make as much sense if they skip the tattoo scene here

I don't think this is as bad as everyone is saying it is, he obviously is in love with him and is just in denial about it, trying to convince himself he's manipulating him when he actually just wants him back and he isn't saying anything cruel to his face, he's just saying it in his head, and it isn't even true
