Pretty sure Dohae is high functioning autistic. At least that's how he comes across to me, who is also autistic. At some point Euntak wondered if Dohae felt emotions or not. Of course he does, but if he's autistic he might not understand them. Maybe sometimes they don't work properly or work too well, he might feel some way at the wrong moment or not feel some way he'd be expected to at the right moment. Maybe he'd feel something and not know he felt it until it was pointed out by someone else. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

It's a pretty okay story, easy to follow. I got mixed feelings on the villian since he's scum, but also arguably a desperate victim trying to survive in a twisted society. My head canon is he eventually gets in a happy relationship with the Emperor, because I want him to be happy even if he's kind of a bastard.
Depending on how you look at this story, it's either a three or four out of five. I'll give it 4 since it gave me some good feelings, but I'd understand a three star rating. It's not one of those memorable stories, it's more like mildly pleasant fast food.

Okay, besides the ending being rushed, it just felt incomplete and unsatisfying. What's really funny is you could make it more complete, and still have basically the exact same ending. Here's what you do.
At the point where Damien comes to save Ian and finds his sister possibly dead, you DONT have him strangle Ian and take the fall. That was stupid. It was self defense. What you do is have the sister get caught for trying to murder Ian. She still gets hit like before and whether she lives or dies doesn't matter, but I'd have her live (so she can go to prison, and/or spend life in a mental hospital). Have the police search her place, and find a diary where she brags about the things she has done. It should mention the cat and the butler (the butler deserves justice!). Naturally it should include her plans for harming Ian. You could even add them finger print checking the pictures she left in Damien's place. They won't have Damien's finger prints, but they will have hers! She gets caught; Damien's reputation is restored (and maybe he can stop taking that medicine, unsure, and not important). Now Ian has been in and out of conciousness, but he was able to say the sister did it. Then he's unconscious for a while, wakes up, Damien is gone, ending proceeds as before. Add some extras explaining what happened, and why Damian disappered for years. We know part of it is him being silly, but the evil sister's diary would likely reveal he was romantically involved with Ian, which I doubt his family will like. But they'll also be feeling remorseful/guilty because of how they treated Damien in the past, which will make Ian and Damien's romance go smoother in the long run.
THIS is how the story should have went and ended. And I'm just going to brainwash myself into thinking that's how it went. From now on, my version is canon! (︶︿︶)=凸
I read the novel version of this! It was really good!
Spoilers pretty please? (≧∀≦)
Sure~ SPOILER SPOILER stop here if you don't want SPOILERS.
So, the protaganist starts out as a child, called Six, working and living in a circus. That's not so much a name as it is his past designation as a performer, the sixth act. In other words, the protag technically has no name. He gets treated well by a mafia dude, Malon, initially because Six helps him sleep (Malon has insomnia). Six eventually confesses his feelings to Malon, who gets angry and doesn't take them very seriously. Six runs away because he wants to be an equal to Malon, but doesn't think he can do it by staying next to Malon. Time skip, Six is now an adult living with some of his circus friends, and one of said circus friends is sick again, but this time they don't have the money to treat her. Her brother gets involved in some bad stuff trying to get the money to help her, and Six infiltrates a party to save the brother, but ends up both getting sold at said party. Six's buyer is Malon, who's saved Six's butt again, lol. Now romance can commence with them both being adults! No romance at first, I think Six's jealousy was the trigger for them getting involved (don't remember)? Anywho, Six becomes sick, but Malon doesn't know how to treat him since Six isn't human. Tracks down wolf assassin dude that Six met earlier in story, tells them more or less what to do, Six guides them to other wolves, but before they actually meet them Six loses control due to his illness and he does it with Malon in wolf form. Meets other wolves and Six is kind of enjoying himself, Malon thinks this is where Six belongs, and tries to sneakily leave Six behind. Six chases Malon down, big sad cry, they makeup and live happily ever after.
I AM SKIPPING A LOT. Like, they go to Italy for mob stuff, Six saves Malon who's in trouble with Italy mob folks (Six is badass), Malon saves Six from crazy brother (Six nearly dies), etc. There was also some epilogue stuff, Six basically becomes Malon's mob wife. Oh yeah, Six is the top in the novel, too.
I highly recommend reading the novel, it was a good read, worth the time.
Thanks for the update ~
Btw my brain stopped working at “had sex with him in wolf form “… now I’m counting down to that moment ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
