Yeah they are middle schoolers right now and jian Yi is supposed to leave after the first day of highschool (theese chapters are the past memories or something) in the first chapters we see jian Yi come back and try to finish highschool to get in the same university as Xixi and then xixi talks bout their past and how they used to be before jian Yi left which are these chapters. (We do have chapters in the present timeline (where the boys are older, 8 or 19 I think) which gets released on Christmas I think)
