I like Irene, she seems like an awkward and good person, but is surrounded by the annoying harem members. Even if she were to, like many people in the comments suggested, snap and tell them off, it wouldn't neccessarily work. People have to consider many outcomes like them ignoring what Irene says, even if she gets mad and yells at them (we don't know if she already snapped previously and if it had an effect or not, because if she did snap at them and nothing changed i can see why she looked souless and just gave up). Another issue could be their statuses. They are clearly equal or higher than Irene. Although we aren't sure how they would react to it, but the worst possible outcome would be her offending multiple or all of them, and at that point she would suffer even more.
Also, i know that it is rude and somewhat annoying if she constantly tries to befriend the mc even if she refused, but if i was desperate for a friend or even someone close who i can rant to i would try for it no matter what. Especially if i find someone who isn't really that affected as much by the annoyances surrounding me.
