I actually don't think that's naive at all. In fact I think it's pretty likely they will have an ok ending. Tragic ending seems very unlikely to me for UTGL, considering various factors.

He got forgiven way too easily imho. I stayed for the baby who is so adorable. Keith was such a good dad too with the baby so I don't know if that works for you but it did for me. In short, he was/is an ahole for his partner but a good dad. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
