
My only opinion about this story is the guider
mental state is not really good but growing up the center and seeing your only parental/guardian figure who oath to protect you forever would make you act like this—because imagine you saw your parents died Infront of you at the age of nine and your only guardian is also almost dying Infront of you in every mission and not to mention you were a victim of child labor. I would be mentally unstable too, no wonder the guide act so childish and immature because that's the only sense of comfort rather a sense of longing he can give to his esper not to mention he was forced to grew up and that's probably the reason why he acts like that to the esper and not on everyone.
The author is teasing us and doesn't make this story more disgustingly freaky
