I prefer the latter cause you cant really do much with a simplified artstyle without spending an eternity drawing the same face per panel.

Yeah same but i just dont understand why the cant make a character actually look their age especially in mangas with more realistic styles. İ think in dangerous convenience store the author succeded pretty well at making the characters look their age. But tbh especially as an artist myself i feel like more stylised artstyle ussually represent way better the age of the characters, because while a realistic style can be quite practical to draw someone accurately, it can also be hard to find a proper referance and actually make someone look their age. İ feel like this whole artstyle issue could also have to do with maybe artists using way older or foreign people as referance while drawing and maybe going overboard on their physical traits. İ myself find myself sometimes guilty of making my ocs look much older than they are while using older people as referance (because i liked their pose)

Yeah sis that’s a hot take. Especially when Jinx has a whole SA scene and it’s author is notorious for it. This story is by no means the same as Jinx sure there’s a “contractual agreement” and elements of misconduct given the initial financial i imbalance but there’s not literal force, abuse, and withheld consent. It’s actually messed up you’re comparing the two to reduce the harm Jinx and others like clearly has.

I will agree that the implication of their first “sexual encounter” is for sure bad definitely, and the grayness of these sort of plots need to be called out too especially when it uses the typical fashion of utilizing alcohol or non verbal consent as a convenient plot device, but I’ll argue given the back story of the ML he’s approaching the MC (sunbae) with incorrectly learned romantic skills it’s the same situation that played out for actor Aziz Ansari if you’re familiar with his pre cursor “Me Too” scandal. Men are thought by unfortunately porn, their peers, and society to approach romantic partners in ways that in actuality can be harmful and hurtful because they’ve been indoctrinated into a mindset. It doesn’t at all excuse the behavior but it gives it context and and rationality. In the case of Aziz it was a bad sexual experience with a partner who admits herself wasn’t assaulted but for sure felt pressured and these are the sort of gray areas that need to be unpacked and properly understood for how they can effect people. I can again understand yours and others takes but I’m being a little more lenient because with the story here for per your example of Jinx specifically as comparison the point is the ML there enjoys harming his partner for his own sexual pleasure and encouragement for his athleticism.

While I agree that this behavior is disgusting I don't see it as patriarchy at play. And I don't see the uke = women link you made. Why? Because women get away with rape all the time, get lesser sentencing too and if they are hot, news make it into: "This dude is so lucky for getting raped by a hot woman." And this happens because everyone sees women as weaker. Men are not responsible for everything bad in life.

İ mostly said that because i just talked and met so many young female bl fans that just viewed the uke as a female character basically and they woulf basically put themselves into the uke's role. Btw whenever the top is prettier and cuter than the uke there is often people going on about how the roles should be reversed and all. This situation has decreased more and more in english speaking bl fandoms but i read bl also in turkish and french and i still see so many people basically viewing the bottom as a women

Obviously jinx is worse but there isnt nearly as much hate towards the top in jinx as there is toward the bottom in this bl even tough the top in jinx treated dan wayyyy worse. And i litteraly didnt compare the two to reduce the harm jinx made on the contrary i meant that its shitty that people would much rather shit on a manipulative but on the kinder side bottom and basically accept a shitty top just because one is a bottom and the other a top. It is true that the bottom is often a self insert and real gay men prefer manly dudes. They don't really like feminine guys, they attracted to men after all. Another thing is, majority of the people reading bl are women. So I think it's due to the fact that their self insert is doing what they would never do if that makes sense. That is why the bottoms are very bland or "relatable", it's cuz women want to imagine themselves in their skin. I might be wrong after all, it's just my assumption but I think there could be some truth to that.

I agree with the first opinion you had but I disagree that ukes are the most hated, ukes can be cheating on the seme with other guys and everything in the comments it’s like omg so cunty! Meanwhile a seme talks back or says he doesn’t like x thing and the whole comment section is everyone saying “uke deserves better” “I hope he leaves him”. Or if the uke is the Dominant one is always ok but if the seme is the dominant one everyone is like “that’s literally a crime” “so forceful” “seme is a rapist” etc

Also if the seme is buff everyone is like muscles are disgusting, he looks grotesque, he’s too big, thinner is better, women don’t like muscles, etc. but if the uke is buff everyone is like king, big tiddies, big boy, and other compliments.
