Maybe it’s because I was raised in such a hardcore religious family... but I get it. I understand why the Amish are so restrictive and exclusive. There is a lot of human greed, vice, and “sin” in the world, and America’s ever-changing society seems to even celebrate those things. They separate themselves from the rest of the world to protect themselves... to hold on to an identity... to know for certain what is “right” and what is “wrong”. It’s just a shame that they ignore the beauty in uncertainty. Searching for your personal identity, choosing a way of life, and exploring your own strengths and weaknesses are all things that make living life worth it. And everyone needs a family/community to support them in doing so.
I agree. There is a certain freedom that comes when you live by clearly defined rules. You know what you can and can't do, an you have a community to support you
In all honesty, I love how frustrating this webtoon is. The story seems to be moving so slow, but at the same time the characters and the endless torture of wondering which path Sam will take keeps me on my toes.
Wouldn’t mind a little bit of a risqué scene though, lol.
