I will forever criticize the people who like illay and the people who romanticize illay and taeui as a couple. Even if illay gets better (in a way where he doesn’t physically harm taeui anymore (although I haven’t made it there yet) ) illay is disgusting and a horrible human being. Like it’s so hard to read the rape scenes of illay and taeui bc taeui cries and is always in pain.
Taeui has some kinda trauma bond with illay that makes him attach to illay and it’s not love. Illay is a psychopath and even in the novel he’s been called inhumane. I’m honestly so frustrated bc I don’t want to see the next couple chapters adapted bc the manwha author may romanticize the rape that’s gonna happen.
All I’m gonna say is this, taeui and jaeui deserve SO MUCH BETTER and both of the brother mindset is so fucked bc the people around them used them for their own desires. I really wished this story ended where the twins run away together away from the people that harm them. I honestly cried the brothers reunited and they were living in a paradise like mansion (even though they were kidnapped).

well thats your opinion and tbh you don’t expect all readers to like ilay bc first of all, passion is a dark romance, you dont expect an ML to be a green flag from the start. Disliking Ilay is v understandable. But what I dont understand is u saying u judge ppl who like iltae. You read story like PASSION and expect a toxic ML and then see what kind of “character development” he would have—bc thats really the point of it. And thats what makes ilay so interesting to me as a character (when u used the term ‘romantisize’ sorry but i kinda roll my eyes bc hey, it’s fiction, it’s not real, readers can romantisize stuff as long as theyre NOT about real people). Also, tay is v casual about sex, he said it multiple times that he would have enjoyed smexy times with ilay if he didnt have a monstrous C. It was his greatest nemesis and this problem was eventually solved and tay and Ilay finally enjoyed their smexy moments. People like iltae bc they have one of the most interesting dynamics and the progress of their relationship was really good. Ilay who have been branded as crazy rick, who never fears anyone, who was toxic but eventually became a sweet lover to taeui, and the only person he shows his human side. People can like toxic ‘fictional’ character and shouldnt be judged by other ppl bc thats kinda ridiculous. You cannot impose ur morals on fiction and fictional characters
So illay became a sweet lover after he punched taeui, gagged him, penetrated him without any play, and continue to raped him while hes crying and full of pain? Taeui is scared of illay and he admits that a couple times in the story. He even felt peaceful when it was just him and his brother in that mansion where they were kidnapped bc he was away from illay and Xin lu. The only reason he loves illay and can’t stop thinking about him is bc of trauma bond but taeui for some reason think his mental condition is schizophrenic (which is very odd for the author to say).
I’m not stupid to think it’s not dark romance and that the whole point of this story is the toxic relationship between them but to say he becomes a sweet lover is not true. To say they have romantic feelings towards eachother is not true. That’s why I judge people like you bc it feels like you’re not actually reading the story and think this is cute.
Sure taeui would enjoy the sexy times with illay IF IT WERE CONSENSUAL. Theres a few times in the story where there was actual consent and where taeui actually enjoys it.
Another thing, I should have change my wording about people who romanticize illay. I mostly meant people who romanticize illay x taeui and see their realtionship as “he’ll treat taeui better later on and be a sweet lover”, type of bullshit.
I can impose my morals on fiction especially when the author shows that their relationship isn’t meant to be romanticize. The fact that the author detailed the pain and mentality of taeui in the story makes me believe that them as a couple isn’t normal or sweet as other couples bc of the trauma bond and illay psychopathy.
I’m not telling people they can’t like illay or illtae, in a way they like their dynamics or the characters individually bc they’re well written or what not. In fact I do think that the author did a good job on making illay not turn to a green flag and made iltae realtionship not romantic but as taeui being entrapped by illay by the end of the story.
