i just binged this and it's amazing so far. 59 was a great twist

I'm glad I picked this up after watching the netflix kdrama bc this is WAYYYYY better.

1. The change in occupation and background stories (e.g. detective WT is a hired killer in KD, hyuk in WT is a high schooler same as hyun but a med student in KD).

2. Ending was different for KD. Hyun was *killed* (immobilized) in KD by the military looking for people who could last through the monster phase (for experiment), but in WT he and hyuk got stuck together in monster phase until they were reborn. He saved the others using his monster phase but lost control so hyuk transformed to stop him (i cried here pls I'm so sad)

3. The weird ass dude who could control his monster kidnapped hyun after he was rained on by bullets in the last ep

4. They were never reborn as humans from eggs in the KD, it simply ended with hyun passing out and getting his body kidnapped by weird ass dude who could control his monster

5. Dusik was killed by hyun in the KD, in WT he transformed and was killed by detective after killing all the monsters in the basement parking

6. Hyun was soooo overshadowed by the side characters in the KD. Here he was highlighted properly by just the right amount of despair.

7. Key characters not in the WT: the bitchy woman from gangnam with the daughter, the firefighter, the sketchy military troops who declared martial law, the glutton dude, the woman with the dog, the soldier and the child predator

8. The KD ends kinda cliffhanger-y, with a hint of action (and it's more sci-fi horror than psychological drama thriller like WT).

9. The fetus monster stayed as is in the KD, in WT it became an egg.

10. Idk if I missed it but they never explained in thw KD why weird ass dude could control his monster (he explained that he has multiple personality disorder here that's why he was able to stay sane. The monster can control only one). He also has a different ability in WT (super strong arms) but in KD he uses his blood to move bodies.

11. Hyuk was a total asshole in the KD, but in WT the asshole was the girl with the glasses (glad she died lmao it was so satisfying imo).

12. Romance was also highly muted in the KD. Asthma girl and detective died in the KD, detective was trying to bring asthma to the hospital bc she was suffocating (asthma attack) but they were shot by the weird ass dude who could control his monster

13. Hyuk and his sister had a decent relationship here in the WT but in the KD they're step-siblings? And eun hated hyuk. She's also a bitch in the KD

14. MONSTERS: there were a lot in the WT (mostly mob monsters) and ig the animation budget wasn't enough to put 30+ more monsters. Protein was killed by blind monster in the KD, but in WT it was hit by the inmate bus. A different monster attacked the car in the KD which was killed by a firetruck

15. The focus of their survival in the KD was supplies and resources (root of their betrayal). While in the WT it was killing the monsters (i think)

I had to skip a lot of scenes bc the KD was so boring is2g I almost dropped it but it's only 10 eps so I powered through it.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys philosophical plots, I loved the WT and I'm glad I watched the KD before reading this because it only served to enhance the artistry of this masterpiece.

Also I thought that if I were to become a monster, I'd either be a cat or something like the eyeball monster bc I'm always losing my fucking glasses

they're fond of her like when you see a cute cat that you'd wanna protect with your whole life, not a fuckable loli neko-chan so chill. implying they're all pedo without any supporting citation is lowkey pedo as well (and also try to understand their culture from context clues)
