Omg but you didn't have to give up the entire genre for this reason lol. You just have to be careful what you choose! If I may suggest, you should always check the rating. I realized that on this website people are very "generous" in this regard, they tend to give very high ratings even to stories that you might consider average. So a manga rated 8 out of 10 is basically considered trash, and 7 is like really bad.
Then of course you also have to consider whether you like a plot, but if you choose mangas rated 9 you can be sure that you won't find something "horrendous" at least.
