I guess it's the way he's got poor morals but tries his best in his own way to cater to his lover? Notice he's only a jerk at the beginning not until Fukurou voiced his concerns. In the end, he actually listens to Fukurou. And Fukurou is so reliable as a character, I don't have to worry that's he's being deceived.
