Okay, so I initially liked this story (also liked Caleb) but the progression seems to have fallen apart somewhere past ch50, like the author/artist is rushing to develop things and it's not meshing that well. Like the scene with the kiss, and the progress of their relationship, it was slow but still moving, then it's like they skipped some chapters (there are also some scenes that i find ridiculously cheesy rather than romantic.)
Also, while the art is pretty, some of the poses look ridiculous, at least to me, mostly when the fl is addressing people as the pope.
Right now, I don't even see how this story will end.

I've finished the current chapters, and my current take is... that I wish Yenni would go home. Though he's treated her well since the very beginning, it doesn't change that he did kidnap her (not that it's the problem for me.) I won't talk about the MC's logic, since it seems she's a bit... unique. However, he has good intuition, he knew whenever she said she liked him or had feelings for him she was lying, which she was. she didn't love him. she wanted to marry him to save herself, and to save him too, but that was selfish on her part, so I'm glad her reasoning is kind of gone (he won't marry the red-haired woman, so he won't have a kid who'll grow to be a villain, so she doesn't have to use that reasoning to try and marry him, also Raulus can make it so she can live in the world so she doesn't need him for her survival.)
Ch 48 was probably the first time she said she liked him with sincerity, but she only realized it herself after she said the words. he knows she's been lying about it the whole time, he has no reason to believe her now when she isn't entirely sure of it herself. I'd really prefer for them to get some distance, realize their sincere feelings, and meet when they're ready to face those feelings. Then maybe they can both speak honestly. He wants to send her away because he's worried about her safety and can't take care of her 24/7, it's a logical conclusion and he's not doing it (or refusing to call her name) because he doesn't like her
Also, in these stories, I can usually ignore that some character probably died to be replaced by the MC, most stories just gloss over this, or it's that the MC remembered past life memories, but the body is theirs, or (rarely) transferred as a new character/in their own body. I felt so sorry for the Yenni who died and her family would never realize. the MC herself doesn't even think about it, in the beginning, all she thinks is that she's pretty now.

This just started but I can barely feel sorry for the 'father.' Even if you're mad over a trade agreement, what are you doing kidnapping pregnant women for? What if something went wrong and both mom and child were harmed? His country is so much larger than the MC's dad's, couldn't he have come up with a better solution to force the issue of the agreement than grabbing an obviously pregnant woman?

The manhwa is cute, though I keep reading in the comments that this is a consenting a/b/o story and I can't really agree. Changmin was stalked, his stalker blackmailed him so they'd live together (and I'm sure he's the reason Changmin's parents left to begin with), and Franz keeps touching his butt when he doesn't like it. That's actually really creepy behavior.
I still like the story because it's hilarious, but it's not without faults.

While this is cute, the second-hand embarrassment is read, lol. I had to skim parts of it, but I'd like to read more of it.
also, the MC is lowkey a sasaeng, but ok. the story is still kind of cute.
(Also, read spoilers and this gets ridiculously complicated later on, so I don't think I'll read much of the story. For such a funny/sweet start, it grows surprisingly dark.)

so here it is

Like i said, the story grows dark and super complicated later, and it involves all three main characters and a few extra people, some haven't shown up in the manhwa yet.
apparently the MC is a reincarnation. in this world, they have a dragon god, and this dragon god cursed three of his children, one killed his lover, the other killed her son, and the last killed his parent (the dragon god, but only the human form) and they all three get cursed. all three also have dark magic.
the first and second are forced to kill again (the man to kill his lover over and over, and the mother to kill her son over and over, though in the og the son was sick so she didn't want him to suffer and killed him. also, this is kinda incest so I'm not sure if it was just looked over, but the man's lover is the woman, and he kills her because her heart moves on to someone else - the dad of the baby.)
So in this story, the Ml met Abel in the battlefield and brought him home. from the spoilers, he actually met a woman there who told him to take the kid, and if anyone came and said they remembered their past life, they're a danger to Abel so to kill them. This was Janus, child of the dragon god, who later reincarnated to Korea, then died there and awoke in the story as Ayesha with no memories.
here is where it gets complicated. in an alternate timeline, Janus and Hades have a kid, and that is Abel. Janus didn't want to kill her son however so she put him in a second timeline (basically, he's isekai'd) where alternate ayesha (Janus) and Hades take care of him. Ayesha remembers her past lives, and that's usually when the curse forces her to kill her son, so in this case Abel, so she asks the duke to kill her but he refuses to.
their world is also kind of in danger (the saintess who appears in the story meant to be a matyr to protect the continent or something, it's mentioned in the chapters so far that the MC's family intermarried so the saintess can wake again from their bloodline, it's her i think.)
oh, and the dragon god of course ended up cursing his children because of hades, technically. Janus fell for Hades, he left her pregnant, her child was born and she killed him to end his suffering, the brother killed her because she no longer loved him, and they kept reincarnating and doing it over and over. the third brother is actually the author of the story, and wrote it to recreate the world so the MC could try to break the curse so they'd be happy. as for the first child, i don't remember the name of his incarnation/og name, but he meets the MC and tried to kill her before she remembers as that triggers the curse, but of course it fails. I think it's Mikhail? though I'm not sure. he hadn't been introduced yet.
It honestly gets too convoluted for me, i only got this much from the spoiler thread, if you can make sense of most of it then you're smarter than me because i was left mostly confused. if you search name of the manhwa + spoiler you'll get it (forum on novel updates).
Anyway, it ends in a happy ending at least, the dragon god gets killed, Ayesha saves their world, the curse gets broken, and the three live and are together I suppose? I just don't think most of the above was necessary or if it was handled well, so i don't think I'll keep reading.

I didn't read the novel, I did find this spoiler thread and there are some excerpts of the novel:
https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/i-became-the-male-lead%E2%80%99s-step-mother-%EB%82%A8%EC%A3%BC%EC%9D%98-%EC%97%84%EB%A7%88%EA%B0%80%EB%90%98%EC%96%B4-%EB%B2%84%EB%A0%B8%EB%8B%A4.115415/

I know how you feel, I definitely have no intention of going through all that. I got the spoilers and it's good enough for me. Maybe far in the future after the manhwa is finished I'd give it a chance because it's got a long way to cover all that story. Technically, the main plot hasn't even appeared yet in 27 chapters...

Ayesha as janus in a different timeline is his mom, Hades in that timeline is his dad. The alternate timeline (current story) ayesha and hades are raising him though because janus sent him there so she couldn't kill him. So they're technically his parents even though he was conceived by alternate versions of them (which explains why he looks so much like hades).
The spoilers jumped through a few hoops to come up with this conclusion. I don't even know if it's 100% correct since I still don't get it, but it seemed to be the only thing that makes sense because Janus/Ayesha in this timeline would have been too young to give birth to a kid (since Abel was 5 when hades got him, ayesha would have been too young and hades hadn't been with any woman I think.)
After reading ch 14, I kinda wish he has a hard time winning her over and he's the one to fall first because he threatens her life openly (kind of). If they just fall in love easily and this part is easily swept away, I may be disapppointed.
