It's kind of understandable why the new lover now 2nd ex kind of deserved the hate he got... he was insecure, manipulative, and opportunist (like no one cares if you love him for thousands of years, MC's ex is still not obligated to return your feelings if he doesn't feel the same. It's sad but that's reality. The fact he took the opportunity to be in a relationship with someone who was devastated and not in the right mind, it's no surprise their relationship will crumble sooner or later plus he lied to force MC's ex to take responsibility for something that nvr even happened. The MC and boss even didn't get together right away cuz MC still have to sort out his feelings, kind of parallels them too. Their relationship was out guilt, both were only deluded it was love).
He even attacked MC despite MC no longer contacting his ex lover and being unprofessional even to their last encounter.
Like I would feel sympathy for him if he nvr did those.

I don’t think so, the Witch Queen (the one that’s used blood magic and traps Vanessa when she was young) says that Asta not being able to use magic is a birth defect. Since babies are too young (magic amount forms as children grow) to form magic Asta’s mother just sent him away just in case she does harm him in the future (I also think her magic can also drain away life force or vitality). Because of her magic/life draining properties and ability to seal magic, a problem probably happened while trying to give Lichita’s magic properties to Asta and boom Asta has no magic.
