okay here is a vague summary of the plot that is probably not 100% correct (via the novel which i read on ridi books, i don’t know of any english translation as i read the original in korean so dont ask me for anything):
[spoilers, duh!]
i’m think the top is actually a psychopath or has trauma that makes it hard for him to feel emotions like a normal person (fellow into the thrill fans, sound familiar?). he’s also rich and super hot and all that jazz. he meets the bottom at some student get together and is initially attracted to him because of his scent. the bottom likes him too, and they have a one night stand, the top decides he likes having sex with him (it’s the typical “i normally fuck girls but this dude made me realize i could do it with men too” and they become “lovers”. the top is sometimes affectionate and jealous and possessive over him, but the top doesn’t really “love” the bottom (more like he doesn’t know how to), which the bottom slowly realizes over time. he feels like the top is only using him for sex (i remember in one scene the bottom dresses up for the top and then they fuck on the floor and the bottom passes out and when he wakes up he realizes the top just left him there, dirty clothes and all) and discovers that the top is an asshole. so he breaks up with him, but the top doesn’t accept that so they go back and forth. in the midst of it all, there’s this TA who has an interest in the bottom, who the top is very jealous of and constantly makes issues for. also, i don’t remember where exactly this fits in but there’s a subplot where the top’s family chooses a finance for the top and the top goes along with it while he’s with the bottom and doesn’t tell him about it. if i’m recalling this correctly, i think the sequence of events is the bottom breaks up with the top > they get back together > because of the finance incident the bottom breaks up with the top again (but seriously this time) > the top has some sort of come to jesus moment and starts his (weak ass) chasing arc, where there’s this one scene where he goers drunk and passes out on a public bench or something (his homeless era) > they get together and the novel ends
yunoh: hyung can you quit smoking
*haewon quits smoking*
yunoh: why the FUCK would you quit smoking. hope you get lung cancer and die actually
before anyone jumps my ass yeah i get that yunoh has ~reasons~ but just because someone has a reason for why they act a certain way doesn’t negate the actual effects of that action. like if i cheated on my girl, telling my girl i have mommy issues doesn’t change the fact that i cheated on her and hurt her feelings.
Uhm i think the difference here is ~correlation~. Yuh oh doesnt understand why haewon is so adamant abt this relationship when its not even smth he ( the he in question is Haewon) wants. You telling your "gf" you "cheated" on her doesnt justify the action or even explain it for that matter, is simply bc of the correlation between the two. Meanwhile Yuh oh doesnt feel seen or heard in this "relationship" because of the simple fact the relationship is fabricated and not actually real. The only reason Haewon is dating Yuh-oh is bc Yuh-oh wanted to move out so he didnt have to confront his own feelings. Yuh-oh is extremely immature yes, but he knows his relationship isnt real and only exists because haewon isnt bored of him yet. Yuh-oh is completely dependent on haewon emotionally and financially. Yuh-oh does indeed suck at communication and this chapter was a hard read especially since hes shouldering alot of the burden and refuses to ask for help bc he doesnt wanna look like a "child" anymore
how are people this stupid. uno is going to bottom. they ain’t gonna switch. i understand that a good portion of mangago users are lobotomized but statistically speaking i can’t believe we’ve managed to congregate the bottomest of the barrel even when it comes to the dumbest people on earth in this comment section
