May I ask why this is better?!! I bought KMIYC a short while after KML, but that's was partly bcz I was waiting on the second volume of KML, which never came out, but I couldn't get past maybe the first ch. What kept you going?
honestly, Josh. josh’s character is so vastly diff from yeonwoo in a way that just made me enjoy the story a whole lot better. he’s a super firm guy, and doesn’t take shit from others. i just found it really refreshing that josh was such a strong character. i’ll admit, chase is horrible in the beginning, but when they start to truly get to know and love each other, they’re super sweet!

no doubt this shit was toxic af but i was very much seated and interested in how their story would turn out.
i also can’t help but see ranwan in them.. specifically taxian-jun/moran 0.5 and chu fei… it’s that tragic angsty love they have for each other despite all odds. glad it was a happy ending.
that wasnt so bad but i agree w everyone else… less sex and more plot would’ve been nice. it’s one of those stories that has such a grand setting but the execution and world building was a bit lacking. and i’m also here wondering if juergen is gonna live a long life as a half dragon? cause joachim is a regular human…

many esper/guideverse related series always start with a brief introduction to the setting but this one just gets straight into it. i enjoyed the angst, it was an okay read, but not rly a series that i’d reread.
And the wind sage?? We didn't even get to see his power （￣へ￣）and what does the Grand master's job? I would love to explore more on that
i’ve reread this a few times bc i absolutely adore the main characters and their relationship, but yeah that ending wasn’t as good as i wanted it to be. not full on hating or anything but it felt like the antagonists and bad guys were all let off with a punishment/consequences that were so lackluster for the things they did. it’s just not satisfying at all.
the older brother should’ve gotten some legal punishment as well as had everything stripped from him. but the father just evicted him from the country but still gave him a job at their international branch… bruh, forget that the psycho bro was ur stepson for a couple years, he literally physically and implied to have sexually abused ur biological son and all u do is make him leave the country? left a VERY bad taste in my mouth.
and whatever the fuck was going on with bomi… hawoon trying to make amends by saying they could still be friends, yeah no. hawoon wasn’t right to use bomi, but bomi definitely had no right to betray him to that psycho bro. bomi also never apologized nor felt guilty for what he did even tho he KNEW what shit the psycho bro did to hawoon. all bomi felt was anger, envy, and desire for hawoon to be his, but never remorse for the shit he did. fuuuuck these two bitches in particular. only saving grace is that bomi could be redeemed, but it would never be shown.
i loved the angsty amnesia trope, and adored the main couple. but god damn, some aspects were so unsatisfactory.

mincheol and haesu’s love story in the beginning was so sweet.. literally feels like a shoujo i’ve read before but can’t remember. they were so sweet, so in love w each other, and he was so genuine. ik that people’s feelings can change overtime, but it just hurts to know that they never ended their relationship on good terms and instead pushed thru this loveless and tense relationship until it got to this breaking point. their flashbacks rly hurt.
now im wondering when it really started to go downhill. was it the loansharks and the debt? in the end, was it money that inevitably changed the course of their relationship? mincheol was always saying that haesu was like a lifeless doll and it’s evident it was one of the main reasons why he started looking at other people. but how self centered did this guy become to not see the reasons as to why she possibly ended up like that? they suffered thru loanshark attacks, the constant piling debt, and not to mention a fucking miscarriage. how did he change so drastically to not even see that the person he once loved so dearly was hurting?
it just makes me so sad to see them end like this, i fucking despise mincheol, especially bc he seemed like such a great guy before.
i feel for haesu :’(
