this short part of the chapter is funny. like great lore drop of how they get half demons. but also the ending is just our main lecturing them and treating the two like his kids.

so if i get this right, they both had crushes on each other in high school. neither had the guts to try to talk to each other after one time. One time the scared guy thought the playboy was talking shit about him and got hurt so he wanted to hurt him back later on. but it seems it was really just gets embarrassed by feelings. Now that playboy has figured out the guy is the same as his high school crush he displays that he was a bit of a stalker in high school. like who remembers where their crush goes for snacks if they never talk to them? And now they are trying to clear the air while being saucy. And the edging thing is insane, like why do you keep doing that?
I think the bread thing is from being kidnapped, I imagine scary dude just bought the bread and playboy noticed the logo on the bag? Might be wrong but to me that makes more sense, not that it was mentioned or anything. I just like to imagine playboy wasn't as much of a stalker
