The latest chapters make me think the ML's father (the Crown Prince) and Chloe's "legal" father Troy Langsher were two men secretly inlove with each other, at least until Chloe's dad realized what the ML's father did (OF COURSE). I think the flashback scene where the prince convinces Troy of his girlfriend Leona's betrayal in chapter 20 proves that the love interest that the Crown Prince mentions in chapter 17, that he managed to monopolize to himself (allegedly by manipulating them into getting disappointed on the "third wheel"), is Troy Langsher, and that the "third wheel" he managed to get out of his way is Leona (Troy's former lover who later married the prince and was the ML's mother). The name "Esther Penselors" in the letter of chapter 15 is probably a code name for "Hessel Orpenster", the name of the ML's dad the former Crown Prince (the two names are written with the same 15 letters, only in a different order)
Turns out I was right?! The ML's dad and the FL's foster dad were lovers?! And then the prince's maternal uncle had to ruin the prince's life over even more than he already had (through beatings since the prince was a child) by making him off the older brother of his beloved (the FL's biological father). I'm so angry at the former emperor, never watching out for any of his children!
ROFL, reading this chapter while already knowing stuff made it so worthwhile and hilarious (OMG the guy's face... hahaha, written all over his face, PRICELESS)
He thought red-haired wife's so much into "watching" she deliberately called curly-hair over just in order to watch him "in action", and he got all embarrassed whahaha (I guess this means he's never had anyone see him from start to finish, before, bc in the orgies everyone was probably busy having their own thing going...)
This is like a tamer version of The Palace of Bardo (yes, believe it or not, a tamer version...) only the reincarnation plot was done much better, I think. never got to finish Bardo because my interest faded after a certain character's past life memories came back, but here the suspense solved that problem (for me, at least). And wow this was such a thriller! The moment I saw the kidnapper guy, I started suspecting what was going on... and I was right!

Why are josei manhua always this bad, lmao. Come to check things again every now and then to confirm if they're still the same, and they're always the same
This one is slightly different but still the same scenario. It's always the catch you in a rape or catch you cheating lol.
