are you fr?? the chapter literally explained how chicken eggs work, the eggs he is currently laying (in chapter 8) are unfertilized eggs so there is no offspring in them just like the eggs you buy at the store. He definitely has an overwhelming urge to protect his eggs but even if he “nurtures” them nothing will hatch from them.

i think its like an "instinct" to protect his babies, even if the eggs are unfertilized, the chickens don't know that. when you to collect the eggs, you usually don't take them all; we leave some so the chickens don't get upset (because of broodiness). maybe its because of that that hes so mad about just "deleting the eggs" djakshsja
