Yes, I had the fortunate to have parents to teach me the difference, but even if it is fictional, doesn’t mean it’s okay. It’s all abt what the authors intentions are when making a storyline for entertainment, so no, I don’t think all horror movie authors are morally wrong and psychopaths, but with all the things you can do in a fictional, fantasy world, why add rape? I don’t see many horror movies adding rape just to make their story interesting or make it the stories purpose.

" why" those elements are part of the story and that's it there is nothing wrong with those things existing in a fictional story and there is nothing wrong with people who write about it or who read fictional stories about it. Yes I know they’re all bad that’s why they are always included in horror genres, but I’d like to refute, there is always a why these elements are included in the story.

I’m not saying those who add these kind of elements got something wrong with them, but not everyone is going to think the same, bc in the end it’s just their opinions and this is your’s. It isn’t simple for everyone to have this same mindset as your’s. Most are sensitive and draws a line to at least one that you stated that is bad (Rape, murder, torture) and just bc it is fictional, doesn’t mean their displeasure for such elements isn’t going to magically disappear.

I don’t think dark elements in a story makes the story automatically bad, but it does start leaning towards shitty when the story romanticizes the dark elements, when it simply brushes over them. Another thing about these shitheaps is that they’re always so unrealistic. The rapist shoves their dick or a toy in with like 5 minutes of prep and a finger. At least with some others, they attempt to give it some elements of plot even if they didn’t do a very good job of it. The authors who write rapey shit just suck.

Would yall say the same thing for real rape, torture etc, saying it's for the plot. Fiction and real when it comes to something as serious as stuff like these. Putting Rape just for the plot to be deep is not Story writing, rape shouldn't be the standard for any story. If it's telling in a way that we no it's rape yes but in details no, so stop telling ppl they are sensitive for not liking something that happens everyday, around the world, it's means they are human with emotions.
