He can't say no to the director, she is his boss, also Shizuma is a person that likes to help other and Minato knows that too.
I get is complicated but I kind of get that he can't just shake off the director's attention.

Honey Minato waited for HOURS in a Cafe waiting for shizuma, he was so excited for that day. At first work held him off, yes, but after that he was just slacking off in the kitchen with the director and didn't even bother to send Minato a message to update him. Minato gave up so many things for shizuma yet shizuma can't even send him a message saying he'll be late. Shizuma doesnt deserve Minato period. I don't wanna give spoilers but next chapter just proves that his priorities aren't set straight.

I already got updated, I still think Minato is just as much at fault lol, Shizuma is a friendly guy and I agree that they made him WAY MORE PASSIVE this chapters but Minato too had some serious issues to that he needs to handle to make it work.

WDYM the director is amazing, they never wanted no brake them off, and was on point with his comments about Minato's Jelousy being a bad match, some jobs need more time and interactions with pther people. The one tjing I agree is that making Shizuma work extra was "bad" but they didn't know, there was no malice in the extra jobs. Like they said they don't care about the relationship they are just doong their jobs and the field of medicina IS JUST LIKE THAT TOO.

The director is far from amazing. He is too insensitive especially since he's taking care of people's loved pets. I too find people to be insufferable but I wouldn't work in a place I'd have to handle their emotions directly knowing that's how I feel. Stopping by a Cafe was NOT work related. Stopping to buy clothes was NOT work related. Work does take a shit ton of time from our life and keep us occupied a lot, but sending a message to cancel plans instead of letting your partner wait more time for nothing is something work can't prevent u from doing. Plus, Minato has trauma and anxiety he'd end up like his mom, and Shizuma drove him to a point where Minato started believing he's acting just like his Mom, someone he never wanted to end up like. Minato is not very stable emotionally and that's why I do too think he should find someone else who got more time for him and got more time to give him the attention he needs. And btw, when one is in a relationship with someone he loves and that person is not very mentally stable, they are responsible to help their partner overcome those obstacles, and create even a stronger bond this way.

No, those are not work related but are part of being a working adult, the director is childish I get it, it can get annoying but me, and a bunch of family and friends know that building a "good relationship" with co workers is important, a bunch of times we had to "hang out" with them against our will, specially for lunch and if we ended up working extra ours no way we can't go away, why? Because is like a silent agreement that is YOUR JOB if you don't go with them they end up thinking of you as being rude, I actually got called out once because of this and a friend of mine too, it sucks but that how is it, the director actually showed they are fine if Shizuma tells them when they have an appointment/date, they let him go when they knew.
Personally I think Minato needs to control himself and start working in his issues with and WITHOUT Shizuma, no way he is going to get better if Shizuma keeps letting him get away, Shizuma also needs to stop being so passive amd overly friendly lol and start speaking up more but Minato too he was at much fault in all this and they both recognized it.
