Long story, short but Jerome does indeed deeply regret what he did to Raymond but doesn’t seek forgiveness bc he knows he can’t be forgiven and Raymond ofc chases after Jerome knowing he can’t kill him but that’s all I will say
Yea it was very unexpected but there's a lot of shit happened before they got together but it's not an easy redemption for Jerome either he's not even forgiven while they're together.
What's even better is, Raymond didn't get instantly healed from the trauma after everything ended, this caused Jerome to be constantly filled with fear of abandonment and anxiety everytime Raymond relapses. It might be disappointing that Raymond ended up with him but it's what Raymond wanted. In the end you'll just gonna root for Raymond's happiness if you read the novel.
