BL is literally an authors fantasy. Some what to write a cute story while others want to write some depraved shit. And depending on the wide vast population, people will orbit to what they want to see. Sadly most people want a possessive obsessed male lead, leading to such stories creations. I call it guilty pleasure. It's why these types of stories are so popular. It's a "break" from the norm, an escape from reality. As long as it stays in the story and doesn't escape the boundrys of the story its harmless. But the moment such actions are taken outside then it becomes a problem.
That's the thing. This thing is okay in mangas only if it is called out or there is like a revenge arc for it. But I feel that yaoi grapes culture is making fans so normalised towards this shit just like how "dark romance" books breed women who romanticize abuse and toxic behaviour. I really love to see a revenge arc for such plots but when they get together at the end completely ignoring what happened without even a shred of apology I just hate it. I respect your opinion.
