She gets kidnaped and suffers a lot during and after that (that is the darkest part). Emiel is her romantic interest but kind of makes some mistakes along the way. Not that horrible for you to hate him since he also suffers a lot (instead I kind of understand him) but enough for you to pull your hair a little.
I wouldn't drop it tho.
