Maybe, but from what I read in the novel (and it’s not an spoiler) is that his brothers group, Artia, was growing in a frightening speed and his brother himself was badass to the point to enter the top 10 players in a short period of time. So everyone started to fear him and warned him to stop advancing because he was already effecting the balance of power within the tower, but he didn’t. Because he was only thinking on find the elixir to cure their mother. In the end almost all the clans alliance to take him down. In simple terms, what they did was just erase who they though as threat to their peace.

Ugh that's lame, I read it too. Seeems like the prof is a uke in another relationship and I lowkey think that the author just threw this other relationship in so that Eunwoo and Hajoon can grow closer and they'll become endgame. The prof (seme) and the MC (uke) would be much more interesting but ofc, it's the author's choice. Dropping this anyway.
