I just want them to get to know each other in the past. that's all I want!

Ummmm no. Anyone would ask a name when meeting someone. Now it's up to the person asked if they would like to give that information or not, but the question /is/ asked. You may not, but that doesn't go for everyone, the whole world doesn't live by your standards, stop being self-absorbed.
Mystery, romance? The story can be told with them knowing each other and could also build on the mystery...Now stop with that condescending tone, its not cute.

Not in school. I meet a ton of people in college and say hello and have classes with them, but don’t know there name. I also feel like once you reach a certain time it would be awkward to ask for a persons name. But maybe you are just confident and can go around introducing yourself, but not all people are. And some people aren’t not confident, but too focused on other things to ask for peoples names, which is probably the case for this story. But I think it might actually happen soon so I am excited.

Not in school? Such a blatant lie and yes, I've attended college. Everyday people make friends by having something in common, making conversation and then they do that thing, you know...introducing themselves???
This isn't an instance when you walk by some stranger and say hello then keep it moving. They've had full blown conversations. The concept of introducing oneself is not taboo or unrealistic as you and the other commenter presume, so your argument has no weight here. I would truly like it if you guys didn't respond to my post saying the same things and would appreciate new ideas within your rebuttals. I'm just going to ignore this type of comment next time. It's like spam.

I’m not saying I don’t have friends in school I do, but do I know everyone’s name in my classes no I don’t. I have a class with five people in it that I sit next to, but I don’t know any of there names even though I have been in the class for months, because it is a lecture class and so we don’t really get the chance to talk at all, besides when assignments are due. I have other larger classes where I only know a few peoples names. In some of these times I do have full blown lively discussions with people about common interests or causal comments here and there, but I don’t know there name.
So what I’m trying to say is that there is such thing as acquaintances and not knowing peoples names in a school. I’m sorry if this is redundant or feels like spam or whatever.

this is bad, this page alone is just too damn sexy and bringing forth something inside me I didn't know I had
