Going back to your thoughts, I do think it'd be interesting if the photographer was the seme but it seems him giving his ass is kind of part of his social maneuvring? Like he's literary using that to discover things about people and so I'm quite interested in finding out how that came to be... I love this author and in her work oni to tengoku the seme used his sexual knowledge as a tool to unknot past burdens because it was the way he dealt with his plus he had no concept of consent in his head up until much late probably because no one was against a hottie hitting on them. For this story I think the photographer is an uke because it's the easiest way, I'd imagine most people he'd have an eye on would be less reluctant once offered to be the top, plus maybe something happened his first time? I don't know but I think this author builds her characters just so perfectly that there has to be something in it for the plot beyond him just being an uke. If he was a top I'd feel an echo with oni to tengoku and I'd probably start speculating on the mangaka's love/bed life lol and I don't really like that, it diminishes teh experience
So overall I think him being an uke was the correct call but the reason I wrote all of this is for you to argue against these points because I want to know how you'd think about this etc, I know it was probably just a feeling of wanting the photographer to be seme but eitherway I'd love to hear an expanded idea on why
