Tbh, this novel was dark from starting. The reason I pity maliki is because he had the most gruesome and saddest past. It's been some time but if I remember correctly then maliki mother used to worked in brothel or something so maliki was either sold to brothel or something. But he had worked as a sex worker from his childhood. So yes, you will see some Child sexual abuse if the manga artist decided to draw it, and at some point his customer was a doctor who had cut his Gentile with his tool but as he has some healing powers he got saved and when he decided to become priest or work in church, things didn't end there. He was sold to nobel men for a very long time and he had endure it because this way he can provide food and shelter to the children in the orphanage. So when he had said he had experience in this field it was because of all of this. The only thing he had gone through is pain. But if you see this from different perspective then you see that he is not that evil. Smart and cunning? Yes. Evil? I wouldn't say that. The only time he experienced pleasure when he done the deed with lytro who even after knowing the past of his loved him for everything. So yeah you can say that, maliki and lytro do have very cute and sweet love story.
