I love their dynamic and the interactions between eachother. Also, I really like the artstyle; the mangaka really utilizes shadows and lighting and it gave me a specific vibe — or two, actually. It gave me the warm sunset feeling esp when it’s set in the school, and when they graduate, I get more of a sunny sunshine feeling. But I like the story.
Another thing I liked was how they didn’t get all overly flustered like other characters do in manga, but that’s just me. It might be a turn off for others, sooo…

An overused trope, cheesy cliches, and characters who were not too interesting to me — Yet, despite all of this, this work has a familiar feeling of having your heart throb. It was actually pretty sweet, and I liked the development between them. Their relationship was satisfying when they got together, and that’s what makes the story so great. Hell, I even got a physical reaction (NOT anything weird, you freaks). My hands were throbbing because of how sweet the story is, though I’m not sure how that’s even possible. But TL;DR, this story was cute.
I’m not entirely sure how I like the two of them as a couple, but WOW. I can’t even comprehend or describe or explain how beautiful this was laid out. It had some amazing storytelling, and honestly, man, yeah, I can’t describe it. The storytelling’s just great.
And I love the characters man, especially the female ones. I liked how Yuka had her own character instead of tossed aside and named as Tanaka’s girlfriend, despite that being her main role. Futaba’s a chill and great friend as well, sick.
I keep going back to reread this, not because it’s phenomenal or anything, or that I particularly like Sou and Nakata together, but because it has a nostalgic feel to it. I personally feel that Nakata’s feelings are realistic (though this might be biased because I just like my best friend who so happens to have the same name as me).
But I really didn’t think this story was special the first time I read it. But then I kept on missing it. Kind of like a childhood meal you don’t like but you end up missing when you move away from home??
