From my understanding im pretty sure hee jung loved myung hee back when hee jungs fame was still good so when she found out that myung hee was getting exploited and abused by her husband hee jung was desperate to help the one she loves so she tried to be the husbands mistress to divert his attention from her(she held myunghees husband when all she wanted was myunghee) but all tht did was lead him to kill myung hee (which happened after ji na was born)
Since hee jung was the mistress, outsiders like myunghees family thought that the mistress was the cause when in reality the husband was psychotic of some sort and she hated him so much (ofc) and regret using that method to help myunghee that she went and broke the brakes of his car which he died from later on
While hee jung was on her way to cut his brakes, ji na was hiding from her abusive father but didnt see what she did- she put two and two together by conflating what she saw and how he died the next day and figured hee jung was the cause so she revered her as her savior and got hee jung a comeback part thru nepotism cuz ji na wanted hee jung to shine like she did before(but ji na also says shes her fathers daughter and wanted to break hee jung so ofc her abusive father and multiple orphaning deaths in her childhood messed her up big time)
