honestly this story is as realistic as it gets, there no magic solution that allows the emperor to be with paulina and there probably wont be, and his duty as the emperor is to provide for the country and produce an heir, the fact that he married 3 women to unify the country shows his resolve that this isn't a game and he knows that idk how this will end but it will definitely be beautiful and raw
