I gifted my ex a gaming laptop + a good mouse. It cost me over 1k. We broke up soon after. To top it off he got a new gf literally 2 days after we broke up.
I've had really bad experiences, but I know it's an extreme result of giving weirdos a chance and failing to notice red flags. It's honestly a bit hard to find a good person who's looking for a long term relationship.
I also don't like the whole "situationship" stuff. For now I'd rather just stay single.

For some stuff yea. When sites like this get viral with the wrong audience they end up getting taken down. If a good second hand store/sites goes viral it gets raided by resellers and it's harder to find good things. There's a good reason why certain things are called "trade secrets".
