Actually it's not like he want to use the baby because he obviously love the baby and he want to be a father. You can see it how much he loves the baby but you can see that he loves Hye all the same. And he want them to be a happy family and that Hye learn to love the baby even of he wasn't wanted. He want his love to be reciprocated. I don't think he plans to use the baby to win him. He just want him To share the same hapiness as he does. Actually I think it's a normal behavior to try to make the one you love endlessly loving you even just a little.
