
I feel there was way too much psychological build up for it to be resolved this way. Sometimes you gotta tone down your story or else it'll feel disconnected from its end. Like, even if they did extras or another volume the last chapter already changed all the dynamics that needed development. It's such a shame, such a good set up.

Somehow I don't find it boring? He procastinated and made excuses because he has a negative emotional response from his previous relationships in which he was dumped over similar issues. And he was already shown as a man that surpresses and avoids his emotions out of fear. What I mean is that this is not a mindless misunderstanding trope, it actuales males sensibles that this would happen.
