The church had a deal with imperial family to kewp psyche locked in the basement with her mom so that her powers wouldnt be revealed by eros discovered her anyways as a kid and made her a friend n fiance since he knew boyt her powers so she was out of basement coz of him in a way....
Current situation shown is psyche n her father leave their home coz they are been attacked by imperial knights so in that travel her father tells her the backstory
Medea again gets engaged to eros, helios is heartbroken but that plot wasnt explored much yet
