Currently around ch 40 or so, I wonder how long this series is going to be. I read some off kilter spoilers the ML might be Schwartz (unconfirmed), but if so, I'm a bit bummed out.
Currently, I really like Lorenzo. His circumstances versus his feelings are really interesting. I feel bad for him because I know he really cares about Cerise but ultimately is working against the empire. Their relationship might end in tragedy and that has me both gutted and invested.
As for Schwartz, yeah, he gave up everything to look for Jeanne (Cerise), yadayada. But he's so obsessive and persistent, it's such a cliche. I'm bored of MLs like him who are a dime a dozen. So far, he hasn't managed to win me over, especially when he won't let her move on with her life. It's not one iota romantic, and he hasn't shown me anything so far to indicate he has an actual personality.
But, again, I'll have to see if my opinions change later as the story progresses.

The ML talks like such a sleaze.
And the way they have full colour photography, but no other similar technological advances, is rather strange.

They also have cars though? As we seen in the first chapter.
Colored photographers were invented in 1861, hand colored with special paints. And widely available by 1950.
I think this manhwa takes place at around the second half of the 19th century to around 1915 at most
Cars and horse carriages co existing at around that time

Also since she was printing copies, the first color films (although invented in 1903) weren't commercially available until around the 1930s, which is inline when TVs were ready.
So basically, I'm just finding it weird they lack other minor (and major) technological advances in a period where technology was prospering. Incidentally helicopters were also a thing in the 1930s.

Yeah I can understand where you coming from; and I can see why it’s could bother someone
But alas only the author have the answers
I think it’s was most likely the artist choice in coloring the photos instead of leaving them black and white.
It’s just and assumption but it’s does happen a lot when the manhwa artists change little (and in some manhwa not so little) details

A historical mystery...AND THE LEAD IS A BADASS REDHEAD MOMMY. Sign me up. I'll subscribe to this religion.

Only at ch 18 atm idk who to root for, Lorenzo or Schwartz. Lorenzo has some shady things going on, but Schwartz reminds Cierre of her painful past... but if I had to pick, Lorenzo has a slight edge for me just because I have complicated feelings about Schwartz's history as a soldier, and the fact that I love buddycop duos. Well, my impressions might change as I keep reading...?

It's... surprisingly not as trashy as I thought it'd be? I mean by josei-smut standards anyway. The FL has a lot of spunk and isn't weak-willed, and the ML only has eyes for her all his life. The dialogue has comedic retort as well. But the plot is kind of up in the air lmao. They all have no good reason to want her dead.
"I know you're flexible enough to suck your own dick"
... reminded me of the one Harada manga.
