Jooin really isn’t that annoying, it’s a story- not everything has to be as realistic as today terms of when is a good time to have feelings or not or if it’s ok for them to have feelings. Obviously it’s catering to a certain audience who usually go for messy love stories. It’s like going to a harem story and complaining there is harem components to the story.

I think yahwi actions are good enough i.e doing his best to woo joo which is what he "thinks" is the best because for some reason his grandpa manipulated him when he was young to make him hard-headed.(again, the trope of, "i was abandoned when young therefore, i must be rude to everyone else")
