everyone getting annoyed at the first couple when I literally threw my phone when I knew they'd be a couple cause YASSSSS.
THAT ELIMINATED TWO TOXIC BL TROPES:
1. SEUNGTAEK protecting the mc would make seunghee the damsel in distress but we all know seunghee wouldn't be one. he knows when to take care of himself
2. KYUBIN bullying seunghee but them dating because of both being gay and somehow happen to understand each other and then would forgiving kyubin w/o a proper apology. but no seunghee holds his ground till the end! I'd take a bossy angsty mc over a gullible one that forgives their tormentor without a perfect apology.hmph.
when seungtaek and kyubin were kinda annoying/protecting seunghee I was like i don't feel the energy from either of them and if they did this is another predictable manhwa but nope, THE AUTHOR IS AMAZING.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOUNEN AI.

I love this shounen ai. deserves a 9.6 imo. wayy better than the cringy shit I've read. the characters are realistic and so are the relationships. misunderstandings don't get dragged too long. and I loved sunghee because he was such a realistic person. he's an asshole and I love it. he's extremely defensive because early on his coming out resulted in his father leaving that probably must've traumatised him. he also catches on quickly. he's just an angsty dumb teenage boys and to see that growth is so satisfying, I like that his personality didn't do a complete 180. maybe the other reason I liked it so much was any other author would've made sunghee a gullible tsundere but this one didn't.
about the second couple, seungtaek and kyubin. they make my heart full. at first I felt bad for kyubin and wanted him to stand up a bit more for himself but he didn't. which is also realistic with real life. I know people that are completely whipped for someone and don't mind the cold shoulder. I think he did tell once that he was tired of this and I'm really glad he did. also seungtaek treats him so well. he babies him and feels his pain and cries for him.
the 30 yr old guy, I'm still a bit confused about his morality but meh the other two hold up the plotline pretty well.
lastly, I love that there was no heterosexual interpretation of the couple's that most manhwa tend to have. these were BOYS. no one was all out perfectly masculine or stronger that the other one. this trope was starting to get annoying. that's also probably why I've been getting annoyed a lot at the manhwas I've been reading and they're even always at the top of the ranking. I don't know how y'all read it. it's 4am and I'm ranting lmao.

I agree! I have no idea why everyone’s saying they were close to dropping because of Seunghee. It was very refreshing to see a main character with a REALISTIC personality, instead of being an cliche trope (e.g.the meek type that apologises for everything and has no self worth, or the extreeme tsundere - which, people can be, but manhwas over-dramatise these personality types way too much). As you mentioned, he acted like a teenage boy - which is who he is! And your final point too; I feel like a lot of yaoi contains heteronormative stereotypes (or at least undertones) because it is targeted towards straight women, and is almost a way of living out their relationship ideals but in the form of two males. Which is why the ‘seme’ is always rich, attractive, popular etc (the ideal man everyone wants but no one can get) and the ‘uke’ the normal, unassuming boy next door type (that the reader can relate to). yeah sorry im also ranting haha

wtf is wrong with y'all.
I fucking hate the professor, he's playing with eunwoos's emotion. eunwoo is completely infatuated with the professor so ofc he would get territorial when hajoon tries to butt in. i don't even know what's there to brag about hajoon, he is also just horny to fuck eunwoo not even caring about consent. yes he was protective but eunwoo returned the grace. there's nothing wrong with the bottom. the only thing wrong is the sick sick professor who can't seem to make up his fucking mind and is just trying with both hajoon and eunwoos emotion.

honestly. all I can say is that this is angst done right. some angst are really bullshitty and have no point. yaoi managa will have rape but just for the sake of it, like it was a ploy device to play with. this story takes it seriously knows the pain it can cause and deals with it in a real. especially even after like 20 chapters they still bring it up. that's good shitm because other manga will forget it by the next one. I also like that the sex wasn't like other mangas wwre the uke makes faces and there's a whole horny focus on that. this was really realistic and so nice to read. the angst buy you can go home knowing that these people paid for their actions.
this is one of those manhwas where the kiss scenes were so anticipated and so special.
