Her vocal cords is just basically torn, like there's no other magic or side effects or such, and even if their medical knowledge is not the same as ours, it should be quite easy to heal a torn vocal cords (as said by Lloyd as well) especially in 5 years time skip, so yeahhh the author just heal it as the time skip pass by as well
this is not true, when speaking with the bandits they clearly say "she can talk?" and she clearly talks with her fanily members in proper speech bubbles, not the mental speaking ability bubbles

(Which is easy to misunderstand like the other person said, the story did not mention how or when she fixed her vocal cords). I was wrong about that. Other than that, she did use the cards and mental communication WITH ML btw (you must have missed that part andI never said anything about her using mental communication with the family. yes they do. Idk how far you read to, but yea they finally get a chance to talk, riftan reveals his anxiety, maxi gains some confidence, they have a LOT of steamy time, and they have a genuine happy ending.
