I have been where he is emotionally.. When you come from an abusive household and try your best to keep living despite what is going on it is really hard not to think that the only reason someone wants to have anything to do with you is out of pity.. They feel sorry for you and want to put a false smile because what else can they do.. That makes it so hard for those who have grew up like that to trust the words of others.. I just know that I myself have been through it and still struggle with it.. I love this manga so much the rawness of the emotions and how relatable it is.. Ethan deserves to be happy and in his sea of chaotic emotions Jimmy might just be his lighthouse.. But I do think that Blue did all he could to show Ethan that not all families are abusive..
