The main story was awesome, I for one really enjoyed it. It was fun. But the side stories are giving me The Ick(TM).
ML and MC's family treating MC like a child instead of including him in a discussion /with/ his own family and other half, about /their/ relationship like they should have was really such a turn-off. Like, that's a grown man ffs, treat him like one. Chae-heon being yandere possessive/obsessive is one thing but excluding your significant other from important conversations??? That shit is an entirely other ballpark. I liked seeing Chae-heon's POV for once, but I wish the author had handled this part of the story in a mature way. What I wanna see at this point is to watch Jeongyoon find out and blow up, or at least be a reasonable amount of enraged at the people he holds near and dear for deciding things for him behind his back. Jeongyoon being a ball of sunshine all the time mandates moments where he's not. The author blatantly using Jeongyoon's trait of being oblivious to things to dumb him down and "fit" Chaeheon's protective tendencies is something I find to be a poor writing choice. istg this coulda been a more evocative reading experience girlypop. Though I hardly think the author would be willing to outdo themself and nail some semblance of responsibility or accountability into Chae-heon towards his partner. And this is why I dislike power imbalances in fictional relationships. And DGMW I love it when fiction explores the extremes of love/obsession/other psychologies, but using that aspect of a character's thought process as an excuse or replacement for them having a personality is not it. ts aint even that deep dawg bffr (-_-)
