not necessarily, he saw what happens when someone “meets” their soulmate and already feels incredibly strongly about it - when he met his fated pair he already knew about the pull he would feel and hence was prepared enough to resist it. the older brother thought it was a myth until he got hit like a truck with the overwhelming emotion pulling him towards some random guy not the same situation at all and hence it IS unfair. so his feelings of heartbreak is valid and he’s not a terrible person like everyone describes, merely a victim of his biological nature
lol Mas himself says how its a different type of pull, nothing can prepare u for something like that. he couldn't control the pull, but he could control his actions after the initial pull...but he didn't even do that. He IS a bad person and not deserving of the MC...and that's okay to admit lol that's what keeps the story going. He deserves his fate in the sequel where he and mitsurur get divorced and they don't get mentioned except for that small panel showing Masomi doesn't have a love interest anymore. Good, he doesn't deserve it
i’m most intrigued by masaomi tbh, he wasn’t prepared at all like akiomi was when he met his fated pair, he had no context and just a rush of overwhelming crushing feelings, he probably had no self awareness whatsoever and neither did mitsuru probably. masaomi was probably crushed with guilt and decided to let asahi go. it feels kinda unfair that akiomi was able to prepare his mind and heart for this situation and now his love is seen as stronger and more true. i think it’s so interesting that masaomi is still in love with asahi despite finding his fated pair, thats so heartbreaking i feel like masaomi and mitsuru probably dated because that was deemed the social norm and they didn’t want to disappoint nor abandon one another because they’re kind people, but in the end neither of them truly liked the other and hence they broke up. akiomi just feels too perfect honestly and was in a much better situation, he has that male lead plot armour just imagine being completely in love w ur boyfriend, breaking up with him because your instincts betrayed you for a mere moment even though your emotions are much more stronger and everlasting, and then seeing ur own brother date the love of your life and not being able to do anything about it because now you don’t have the right to, that’d fuck me up for life. i kinda hope that masa doesn’t date anyone now and lives a life for himself, not worrying abt fated pairs or romance or wtv

Akiomi wasn't more "prepared" he just had different priorities than Mas. Akiomi did not know that he was going to see mitsuri and the park, that was also a by surprise but he FOUGHT to keep his cool. Mas probably always knew in him that he had a fated pair out there. His priority was not Asahi. Neither was Asahi's friend. They didn't apologize for so long and when they finally had the guts to, they were barely apologies. I also don't get why people hate the true ML for being "perfect". Akiomi truly loving the MC makes him annoying? What kind of logic is this? They can't both just give up the MC for your obvious favorite mitsuri lol. Just because Mas regrets choosing love over lust does not mean he deserves better things. Him living in regret is his punishment. I hate to see that in the later volumes Masomi "forgives" himself like get a grip[. Atleast we know the cheaters are divorced and basically don't hear of them ever agin.
Also in the second volume the MC meets his "fated" pair for the first time and din't react like the "best friend" and ex, even though it is his first time feeling the connection too...ugh the excuses are just disgusting sorry

the way this story reads like a movie is incredible omg like the fade outs and transitions, the different angles and focus on expressions and small movements, the atmospheric vibe, the way the dialogue is paired with the scenes feels like they’re actually speaking, the timing for each reaction and response just feels so natural and human - it feels like i’m watching a movie that’s been nominated for some prestigious film award
