While both their families were abusive, I do find it tragic that the relationship with their siblings could’ve been good if it weren’t for their parents expectations. They both had a sibling that cared about them in some capacity and the main pairing will NEVER know that since they cut ties with both their families.
Like the siblings are very harsh with their words but Ren’s brother did warn Ren about their older brother. He was rude but I think it all stemmed from him wanting Ren to be stronger. And Yuu’s sister did offer financial aid and refused to involve Yuu with such traumatic memories again. She too was rude but finally got to protect Yuu from their abusive grandmother in the end. It’s honestly all so sad and I’m sure the four of them wished for different circumstances and a better relationship, but will simply never get that. sobbing :(
Despite that though, I do love the reoccurring theme of found family. While they both lost their childhood homes, they were both blessed with an elder couple looking after them at their low moments. It’s very sweet and I love that the mangaka also let Ren be blessed with such parental love and not just Yuu.

what’s up with mangakas attempting to “redeem” their rapist piece of shit characters with a troubled backstory and new found romance.
he deserves jail…not a boyfriend
Precisely! I’m disgusted that he went unpunished and got a “redemption arc” when he is a sadistic r@pist that deserves far worse!!
cause it's not real
holy shit, it isn’t !!??!
i’ve been bamboozled this whole time
mhm, glad you know now
ty for the reality check, i nearly lost my mind in pointing out a common bl troupe that most would find distasteful, fiction or not.
what would i have done without your useless comment
dw, i felt the exact same way. your comment seemed stupidly useless.
didn’t realize the trope had to be real to be bad.
but look at us agreeing to something glad it wasn’t stupidly useless to the people with brains that liked my comment
go find urself stupidly useless elsewhere and fuck out of my replies
you sound mad
you sound stupidly useless
you're responsible for your own triggers. nobody forced you to read it. creative freedom exists for a reason. if creators had to account for everyone and their circumstances, we would have nothing to watch or read.
you sound dumb. critiquing exists for a reason too yk?
also where in my comment did u get any of that. triggered? forced me to read it? i just pointed out a simple observation, i said nothing about disliking the story or being triggered.
You asked why mangaka artists do it, so I said why. You're the one who got pressed, not me. Also, that wasn't even a critique, it was a moral argument.
pressed where? if anything, i enjoyed our little scuffle and i overall enjoyed the story. and while i mostly agree with the “cause it’s not real” responses, i can still find common tropes distasteful or unsatisfying hence my comment. the question was rhetorical, i think it’s a stupid trope. ofc i know it’s not real, just dumb
You came across sort of aggressive. But if it was all in good fun, that's fine. Glad we can come to an agreement though. I can understand your frustration, sometimes I find myself annoyed with it too. Have a good night.
arguing with people online is a toxic habit of mine. the aggression is mostly sarcasm. however, i am glad that we came to a conclusion. i do side with the separating fiction from reality side and understand your response. it’s just some fictional tropes make my eyes roll and i point it out. gn to u too
