I'm reading the novel right now and honestly- While I do not want to give any spoilers myself, I recommend people to read it also. The well known spoilers are not only out of date, but also leave out a lot of details. Of course, if you don't like how slow the story is, drop it. But if the only reason you're dropping it is because you've heard the spoilers about ((Spoiler ahead)) the wives, then please give the novel a read. You miss out a lot of good story by dropping it at this point.

Here's the link! Someone posted it earlier. I think this chapter is around what the manhwa is up to.

in chapter 279 the author acting like america doesnt have pretty asian people already
imagine how creepy it would be if a crowd was there just watching you eat
anyway i wanna see more of tadano's sister she's funny

Lol. I mentally compared it to someone that looks like/carries themselves as a celebrity and people watching because others are watching. Tho- You'd be surprised the number of people who stare at others in restaurants. Ive had the experience myself. It is EXACTLY as creepy as you imagine it to be (crowd or not).

Children can be celebrities too?? But yeah lol. I'm not sure how much the clothing/ outfit would play a part. People recognize celebrities even in sweats or tracksuits, Kidols (often not adults) in masks and wigs. Going back to having the experience myself, I had it happen before when I was around her age, not to such a large extent as komi-san but still significant I feel. Moreso I can guarentee that I wasnt an adult or wearing a flashy outfit at the time, much less was I a celebrity/ looked like one. As far as I know, people were staring cuz im well mannered and decently attractive. So, yeah people ARE weird asf. Theres no real reason as to why they are either, so I also don't think the reasons people stare in the end really matter. Though it is fun to theorize.
Wait a sec, looking back at your comment. I look Asian (I am half, but its half indian), like korean/ Chinese to MANY people unfamiliar with Asians. So, yes. America does have pretty Asians, and people (sometimes lots of them) stare anyway. Sure its blown up but the idea itself isn't. It is 100% a thing. ( ̄へ ̄)

not really it was just a long way of saying "i am tone deaf"
if you cant talk to people without bragging imma warn you that your friends are gonna get fed up of you real quick. nothing wrong with being confident in yourself but hun definitely could've gotten your point across without the whole convoluted "i look like an asian child celebrity so american adults love to stalk me"

Dang you really went all out. I realize how that came off now that you spell it out, and I've gone back to re-read lmao. I was legit being like "maybe this is a reason I've had the same experience" or like "this is a situation that happens, and looking asian could play a part" but I did over condense it to a point it sounds like I'm humblebragging. Honeslty, I like your critiques, I feel like no one really points out to me how my words can be outright ridiculous. I do think you were uneccisarly crass tho, you could have mentioned my comparison really had nothing to do with the convo without comparing my entire existance to a convuluted bragging-obbsessed plebian.
Hey, since the convo is still going for whatever reason. In what way is having people watch me to their hearts content meant to be something to brag about, or to have americans want to stalk me something to brag about? Honestly its an unpleasant experience and with the existence of human trafficking, something that could lead to way worse scenarios, I don't really get your point. I totally get stating my appearance as a reason people stare is like being "people stare cuz im attractive" but I dont really get your statements on my comments of recieving (unwanted) attention at restaurants equating to the same thing/similar things. Even more so, I realize that I happen to be the kind of person who may sound like a hummble-bragger (especially when I over-condense) but I honestly don't believe I have much to brag about, nor do I brag unless I am very close with someone. So your comments, though I enjoy the hot takes, are leaving me increasingly confused and unfortunately a little dissapointed that I ever attempted to engage in conversation at all.

Yeah sorry for being harsh lol I don't really have a filter online. Apparently my instincts think adding rude words makes things funnier. Anyway-
I wasn't referring to that part. The humblebrag part was more to the like "I look like a child celebrity" stuff or whatever. Having people stare at you is in no way your fault and also is just creepy as hell - which I literally thought while reading the chapter. Like I was more criticising how weird it was that it was just a bunch of American adults staring at this little school girl, and it also seemed like they were trying to imply that like japanese school girls are some sort of eye candy delicacy in America - which while I'm not in or from America, I really doubt it lol. Just a bit weird. Even if it happens in real life doesn't mean it's weird as fuck to put in your comic that's supposed to be light hearted. it was a creepy ass scene tbh as someone who hates being in the spotlight of any sort.
all i could imagine is "gross lol this cannot happen in real life i'd rather die"
Also pls don't call what I say 'hot takes' I'm literally just some stupid random on the internet that reads comics for fun. Literally nothing I say should have any worth to you lol. Also my comment wasn't that serious in the first place, which is why I didn't really reciprocate your attempts to make a conversation. I'm gonna be honest I didn't even read any of the text in full...just skimmed it.
I honestly just thought you were someone trying to defend the adults being weird and humblebrag at the same time lol

Makes a lot more sense lol. Thank you for clarifying. I think my own lack of filter came out in such a manner that I looked like a humblebragging pleb. Don't beat yourself up about what you say tho- there's some good content there, at least I think so. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ The break down thing is a mood, I deadass failed an exam today, and am like 3 large assignments behind so considering the worth I put to assignemnts and the fact that ive been doing so much to stay afloat and still can't is tipping me over the edge, hard. Anyways, If you ever find yourself in America, people seem to have less boundries here in regards to public decency so I do think that's in part as to why the author included that.
[This paragraph is a blurb going into detail about my analyis of the scene/ of my previous replies; You don't have to read it.] Speaking of reasons that could influce the scene though... the schoolgirl part could potentially be a reason as well; searching up schoolboy vs. schoolgirl give very different results. With that said, considering the story I honestly think the idea itself was a continuation of the "komi-san unintentionally being the center of peoples attention" gag but with some "americans not minding privacy in a fast food resturant" sterotyped addition (though it is a truthful sterotype). I for whatever reason added on to it in a "it could happen, it happened to me" manner then mentioned possible appearance based reasons "komi-san is cannonly attractive, quiet, well-mannered" all things that have been reflected in other's comments towards me, so I figured that could play a part in the similarities of mine and the character herself. I then saw your comment on Asian looks & thought that could also play a part, though moreso in the manner of "black peope are more likely to experience racial injustice" sorta way than a "Asian child actor" sorta way. Something that is more obvious from an american standpoint regarding the likelyhood of being stared at.
My exact reaction to your "gross lol, this cannot happen in real life i'd rather die" is "that happens in real life tho"
and then "I did imagine more like.... though" I realized your initial comment wasn't too serious but with your strange reply of "wasnt something to stare for" I got sidetracked. Hence the most recent editions to the convo log"
I called your words "hot takes" just cuz thats what I call anything that I havent heard before. Unfortunately for you I choose the worth I give to random peeps on the internet, you happened to get some. Sorry for that, I'm not getting rid of it. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
But yeah, kinda weird, but i'm just vibin' a bit with you. I'd probably enjoy the thought of us become friends or occasional chat buddies too, but thats probably not a commitment I could handle right now. Nonetheless I think of our interactions overall as a more entertaining (positive) experience. ( ̄∇ ̄")

It's ok, I should probably stop attempting to engage with people on this site as well. Especially after a first post. It seems most people on here don't care for solid conversations or mediocre debates, doing so only seems to irritate others. So, In the end I'm the only one setting myself up for these situations. I hope things get better and you stay safe. Anything that goes down must eventually come back up.

personally for me i come here to kind of unwind and stay away from people so i can read and comment peacefully, others might be the same. however there are members of this site that regularly take part in the forum section or something- Try that, you might enjoy it there. I've seen some people become friends over it. Just beware trolls lol
