not really about this chapter, more remarking on the series thus far... feels like it's dropped and gotten a bit boring now that the kids are born. Dude is a jerk and Warrioress is 90% bitch... I guess they deserve each other in that respect, though I can't say I'm particularly fond of people being assholes. yet still I've read this far and will likely continue to do so lol
ugh... crying so much at the end there... I haven't seen the anime and only picked this up as I'd just completed Love Is War and it was by the same author. I 100% don't think I could watch the anime now knowing what's in store. I don't have the mental fortitude to handle it. My heart breaks for Kana, and Akane, and Ruby. Also, their "mom". Replaying Kana's reaction at Aqua's funeral has me tearing up again. ugh...
I will say that earlier on in the series it was so lovely to see Kaguya name-dropped as Ruby's photographer-- and with Miyuki's family name no less. Unknown who proposed to whom but glad to see that it didn't take until Miyuki was in his 50s like he'd planned.
first move should have been to kill that fat general. Sadly, I don't think it'll happen, but I hope that Ren's Aunt gets the shit kicked out of her for the choice that she's made.
MC can just never EVER catch a break, huh... yes, he has the power to fight back against this traitor old man but for how long and at what cost? seeing old man get his attacks mirrored back onto him is nice though

I feel bad for "little sister's" dad here. granted we know what a bitch younger sister-in-law is and what a nasty personality she has so I wouldn't want her in the first place, but wifey setting up concurrent matchmake dates seems like a 2% chance of him overcoming and raising to the challenge and a 98% chance of just crushing his confidence. Wifey also has a nasty personality so she's probably banking on that 2%

I'm a bit confused as to why Haze gets to nag/chew out the MC when Aki's gender is revealed. What did he do wrong? First, knowing Aki was a woman, he wanted to preserve her dignity and avoided undressing her-- I'd think that was the correct call. and second, Aki was intentionally presenting as male to all but the MC so revealing her gender to Haze wasn't his secret to divulge. But if Haze finds out during the course of treatment then nothing to be done about that. Again, I'd think that was the correct call... All I can think of is the same dumb crap of "Haze has found out there is another woman near the man she likes so she needs to assert dominance but nagging and yelling at him".
I'd nearly forgotten about Yiyi, nice to see that she's been leveling up on her own.. though not that she'll be anywhere close to Lin. I love that she was fully prepared for this super high level dungeon with picnic snacks. She's a veteran of grinding w/ Lin after all. Every time I see her "combat outfit" I think it looks like she's wearing crotchless tights w/ a jacket around her waist to hide the fact that she's bare in the middle....
I also love that ALL of the academy leaders were like "welp, Lin's there so he's got it" after boasting about their own teams.
so the teacher in question doesn't actually get any say in the trade? MC jumped in to defend or whatever but if she loves MC as much as she claims then she should have shot down the pretty boy the instant "I love you" left his lips. Also, she's only taking the job to be close to MC, so it's not like the school has any say either, she can just quit.
