And MC clearly doesnt want anything casual (everyone and ML can see that he likes this man) so ofc ML is gonna reiterate the fact that he does. That’s why MC can cut him off here without trying to work it out because there’s nothing to work out. That’s the downfall of a situationship. If you decide to partake in that type of no strings attached transactional relationship you have no right to be upset just because it’s ending since it was never meant to last. He wants the good parts of what comes with a situationship (intimacy, companionship, no heavy feelings involved) without being respectful enough to roll with the punches of the downfalls(abrupt ending, feelings developed, partner finds a real relationship). This was his idea that he pushed for. Feelings are involved now so MC is doing his part and cutting it off. What’s the point in reiterating you’re not trying to date unless you’re purposefully trying to be nasty. My main point is he should fix his attitude towards MC.
