so i know everyone is upset that the assault wasn’t addressed properly here (i am too) but let’s not forget being hyper sexual after SA is a perfectly okay coping mechanism for some victims. with all of his anxieties building up, to being assaulted and then finally having yiyeon ease his worries and insecurities, it was like a fuse that had ran its course and was going to explode.

we can look at it that way, or it could just be another case of bl authors and their fetish for SA - but it wasn’t between main characters, so i doubt it in this instance - and as far as i remember, i don’t think yiyeon’s ever forced himself onto jin kang so based off of the main story, i don’t think (or at least i’d hope so) that the author was trying to be weird

i must say, the SA is something very real, though. if i’m gonna look at it from a ‘this is real life’ perspective, don’t asian people, especially korean people - mostly woman, get sexually assaulted in western countries because of their distinct asian/korean appearance because it’s a fetish - i know its not exactly unrelated but i just wanted to point it out

also, i don’t like that this assault was thrown in as a plot device for jin kang to reveal his insecurities to yiyeon. they could’ve just argued over dinner and then gone back to the hotel and talked it out

i’ll still never understand why everyone loves yeonwoo as much as they do AND AH AH AH, let me speak before you downvote me and rush to defend him.

1. sexually assaulting hwibum in his sleep - you don’t just go around jacking yourself off on a sleeping person’s face WHAT THE FUCK. they weren’t even in a relationship at the time as well (not that that would’ve made it better unless they discussed it prior) but that made it EVEN worse

2. threatening to off himself - throughout the story, yeonwoo was incredibly manipulative, but the peak of it was truly when he flung himself off the construction site bc hwibum didnt wanna date him HELLO WHO DOES THAT????

3. coercive sex - it was a pattern at the start for yeonwoo to forcibly convince hwibum to have sex with him. sex should be a two way street, that is 110% consensual and enjoyable for all parties involved.

4. non consensual sex - again, yeonwoo forced hwibum. but the specific sex scene i’m talking about is when hwibum lied about meeting soohyuk so yeonwoo used hwibum as his personal sex doll, having incredibly rough sex that hwibum did not expect, and did not stop when hwibum continuously told him no and to stop multiple times. before anyone says that hwibum said he didn’t hate it the next day, be so fr. that man is weak for yeonwoo’s pretty face and puppy dog eyes, he’d drop his morals for him

i do feel bad for yeonwoo’s trauma, but that’s no excuse to manipulate someone into a relationship and then force yourself onto them. look at all of the consensual sex scenes, like the one at the end at the hotel - it was so nice and sexy. 100% consensual AND sexy, ik a lot of you guys are used to reading rapist trash like low tide in twilight and roses and champagne and thinking it’s a masterpiece, but i promise you, consensual sex is MUCH better than rape and sexual assault.

not to mention soohyuk. yeah, he was pissing me off by trying to get in between them even though he knew they were together, but the poor guy was just a stupid fool with a crush. honestly, if hwibum wasn’t such a fool himself, soohyuk would’ve been a great partner to him

idk anyways, glad they got their happy ending. let’s see how the side stories go - hopefully more with their families and some closure for soohyuk - I NEED HIM TO HAVE HIS OWN STORY BUT A WORKPLACE ROMANCE
