I (and we all) know that Dan has always been a softie and a pushover but something about it this chapter was extra annoying to see. In fact, this whole damn chapter was irritating. Everything felt so unauthentic.
I agree with you regarding jaekyung’s whole moment there, it just too fast of a turn around. Maybe if we were reading it all at once it would feel a bit more intentional and authentic but it just doesn’t.
The author definitely put Dan just taking the back-sass in this chapter to further make jaekyung feel like shit— so at least that was nice to see. And to see him regret it for a second.. fuck that guy lmao.
It also goes along with what you said with Dan being such a softie cause like he even said he’s been sick before and it’s lonely, so he’s not just going to walk away. So I think Dan was very authentic to his character in that moment… but at what cost, king?
All I can hope for in the next couple of chapters is that Dan stands his ground.. which I think he has been doing pretty well up until now! He’s just lost himself rip
